Happy New Year!
As we come to the close of 2024 and the birth of a new year, we start to think about resolutions to change our life ... which most likely only last for the first few months of the year! One of my former careers was teaching yoga in fitness centers and boy, were we packed in January and February months. The definition of resolution is : the act of finding an answer or solution to a conflict or problem : the act of resolving something. That sounds very negative if I am wanting to go to the gym to lose weight! If you go to find the answer or solve a problem with negative thought guiding you, no wonder we don't stick with the plan!
So instead of making "resolutions" this year, let's set our "intentions" or purpose for the action and stick with the plan. Make this year a more positive approach and enjoy yourself! Just focus on being real and authentic. Don't be hard on yourself; be true to yourself. Love you the way you want others to love you. Get outside, start planning that new garden or flowerbed, take long walks in the woods.... but be forgiving if you don't achieve the goals at first. make new goals. Always keep striving for more. More doesn't have to be big. More just means never give up....
